Mostafa Mamdouh, Egypt
Twenty Grams Coffee Roasters
Tell us about yourself:
I work in Twenty Grams Coffee Roasters. I have been competing for almost three years. My coffee colleagues encouraged me to compete. I have become fond of competition and want to prove to the world that Egypt has a lot to offer. Fun fact: before I entered the coffee industry, I was the captain of a local football team in Cairo. I have been an athlete since childhood and had a passion for football as a child. I got into coffee through friends, and when I watched a very close friend of mine work in the coffee industry, I became passionate about coffee and the experiences that come with it. Everything from the science behind coffee to facing customers and educating them about coffee has been an exciting journey for me.
What are you excited to do while you visit Busan?
I am mostly excited to see the coffee scene in Busan and explore the culture of coffee in Busan. As well as the famous diamond tower.
What are your interests outside of coffee?
I like to spend my free time playing sports, especially Football. Prior to entering the coffee industry, I was captain of Al Moqaouloun al-Arab football team in Cairo for three years.
Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize or who helped you to prepare for the WBC?

It is difficult to thank a few individuals as I have an army of people who helped me reach this dream.
These include my family and my fiancée life partner this who were always there to support me and take the pressure off.
