Miki Cordero, Bolivia
TYPICA CAFE TOSTADURIA
Tell us about yourself:
I am one of the owners of typica Café Tostaduria in Bolivia, it is a specialty coffee shop where we work with different coffees of very high quality and of Bolivian origin.
I am a coffee lover and have been in the business since 2012.
I am a chef by profession but I dedicated myself completely to being a barista from my first espresso in my first job.
I am the first Bolivian representative to compete in an international tournament and it is the first time I compete.
I want to compete because I want to prove to myself how far I can go.
What are you excited to do while you visit Busan?
I am very excited about the opportunity to learn about their culture and, above all, the current situation in the country around specialty coffee.
Being able to meet more professionals in the field and learn more.
What are your interests outside of coffee?
Outside of coffee, my hobbies are:
Spend time with my family, especially my children.
sport, basketball game, and cooking, I am a chef by profession and I enjoy cooking.
Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize or who helped you to prepare for the WBC?
There are so many people I want to thank,
to the team that helped me win the national tournament: Mariana, Carlos, Norma, and Chris. They are part of the typica team and helped me while I prepared.
Special mention to a barista that I admire and gave me some tips to structure my training, Shak Zapata, champion of Mexico 2022.
