Tell us about yourself:

I am employed at The East African School of Coffee, where my responsibilities include training baristas, roasting coffee for cupping, and serving as a cupper. With four competitive participations under my belt, my initial motivation to compete stemmed from a profound enjoyment of the coffee industry and a desire to continually expand my knowledge within it. Originating from a family with a coffee farming background, my journey began at a young age, harvesting on my grandparents' farm. After completing my Diploma in Hospitality, I commenced my career in a coffee shop, initially as a waitress, eventually progressing to the role of a barista. My transition to The East African School of Coffee was driven by a pursuit of further education and expertise within the realm of coffee, inspired by the opportunity to contribute positively to the industry in Kenya.

What are you excited to do while you visit Busan?

Interract and network with great coffee professionals, visit the historical sites and learn the culture there.

What are your interests outside of coffee?

I love art, animals, and adventure.
