Tell us about yourself:

I'm Stephen, the founder of Gif Coffee China. I've been working in the coffee industry since 2014, which was my first job. Participating in the barista competition has driven me to constantly improve, not only in terms of coffee technology, but also in my personal growth. This, I believe, is the charm of coffee–it brings together people who share a passion for the beverage.

What are you excited to do while you visit Busan?

This is my first visit to South Korea and I am very happy to get to know the local customs, as well as enjoy the food and various unique cafes while participating in the competition.

What are your interests outside of coffee?

I am also enthusiastic about sports. My favorite is running, as it helps me relieve stress and feel relaxed.

Is there anyone you would like to thank or recognize or who helped you to prepare for the WBC?

I would like to extend my special gratitude to my wife, Twotwo, my family for their unwavering support in my WBC journey, and my coach, who also happens to be my idol, Kapo Chiu. I am also deeply grateful to my team GIF, Coach, Teacher, Mr. Zhuang, and everyone else who has supported me along the way!
